About Us

What is The Story Chamber?

The Story Chamber is a curated collection of unedited AI-generated short fiction. Every story is created using structured prompts and fictional AI authors, no human rewriting, no polish. We focus on pre-generation design, not post-editing.

Are these stories really written by AI?

Yes. Every story on the site is fully generated by an AI model. We design fictional authors with their own bios, styles, genre preferences, and ethical constraints and guide the model using detailed prompts. The output you read is untouched by human editors.

What do you mean by AI author?

Each author is a fictional persona created through an extensive template. These AI authors are designed with:

  • Cultural and generational backgrounds
  • Genre specialities and recurring themes
  • Stylistic and rhetorical traits
  • Personal philosophies and writing processes

They're more than pseudonyms, they're creative engines built for narrative consistency.

Content & Publishing

Is the content human-edited or reviewed?

No. Stories are not edited, rewritten, or corrected after generation. However, we do curate what gets published. We assess each story for:

  • Narrative coherence
  • Stylistic alignment with its author
  • Thematic integrity
  • Ethical responsibility

If a story fails these checks, it's not published, not because it's flawed, but because it's misaligned with the author's voice or our standards.

What genres do you publish?

We work across a wide range of genres, including, but not limited to:

  • Gothic horror
  • Noir/crime fiction
  • Surrealism
  • Literary fiction
  • Sci-fi and speculative fiction
  • Urban exploration narratives
  • Psychological thrillers

Each author has a defined genre or hybrid style they specialise in.

Do you allow AI to generate harmful content?

No. Each author is given ethical guidelines that are baked into their prompt.

They avoid:

  • Glorifying violence or abuse
  • Exploiting trauma
  • Spreading misinformation
  • Reinforcing harmful stereotypes

If an output violates these rules, it's filtered during curation.

Rights & Licensing

Can I republish or adapt these stories?

No, not without written permission.

You may:

  • Share links to stories
  • Quote short passages (under 100 words) with attribution

You may not:

  • Republish full stories
  • Adapt stories into screenplays, games, or derivative works
  • Use the content commercially
  • Present the work as your own

Can I collaborate with The Story Chamber or license a story?

Potentially, yes. We're open to:

  • Research or educational uses
  • Media licensing (adaptations, anthologies, etc.)
  • Creative partnerships

Please reach out at contact@thestorychamber.com to discuss.

Can I submit my own stories or prompts?

Not at this time. The Story Chamber is currently a curated project with internal prompt design and AI authorship only. We may open to guest collaborations in the future.
